Your Wedding Photographer York Couples Can Rely On

Most of my work happens in and around York, from city centre ceremonies and Minster-side group shots to barns, halls and marquees out in the countryside. I also photograph weddings across Yorkshire and further afield, so Harrogate, Leeds, Malton, Selby, Tadcaster, Thirsk, Ripon and the surrounding villages are all familiar ground. If your venue is somewhere I have not shot before, I visit beforehand where I can, so I already know where the light falls and where the quiet corners are.

Before the day we talk through your timings, the people who matter most and any family groups you want listed, so nothing gets missed while everyone is busy enjoying themselves. If you would like a pre-wedding or engagement shoot, that is an easy way to get used to being photographed and to meet properly before the wedding itself. I carry two cameras and spare cards and batteries all day, and images are backed up to more than one place as soon as I get home, so a single piece of kit failing is never the end of your photographs.

Common questions

How far in advance should we book our wedding photographer in York?

Most couples get in touch twelve to eighteen months ahead, usually once the venue is confirmed. Summer Saturdays in York go first, so earlier is safer. That said, it is always worth asking about a shorter notice date, because gaps do appear.

Do you travel to venues outside York, or is there an extra charge for travel?

Yes, I regularly photograph weddings across Yorkshire and further afield. Travel within the usual York and Yorkshire area is included. For longer journeys or a very early start I will tell you honestly what any extra cost covers before you book.

How long after the wedding will we receive our photos, and what’s included in each package?

You will see a small set of previews soon after the day, with the full edited gallery following once every image has been worked through properly. Each package sets out the hours of coverage and what you receive, including your online gallery of high resolution images to download, print and share. Album and print options can be added at any point, including after the wedding.
